It was absolutely ridiculous.
Here, Kaitlyn Rodriguez was sitting in the middle of the park at two thirty in the morning with an acoustic guitar in her lap, wearing shorts and a cardigan that wasn't very warm at all. She just needed it to be raining and then her moment would be complete.
Placing her Green Day plectum in her mouth, the brunette shifted her position on the floor, so that she was leaning more against the wall, and crossed her ankles, bringing the guitar into a more comfortable position on her lap. It wasn't that cold, but she couldn't help but shiver slightly as she removed the strap from the guitar and placed that to one side. The plectum was taken out of her mouth and strummed gently across the strings.
It was, and also wasn't, her usual behaviour to be awake at this time of the morning; really she would rather be sleeping, but the inspiration for a new song had hit her like a ton of bricks and she felt as though she were on a sugar rush. That sounded pretty interesting, especially since she couldn't recall having any sugar for the past three days or so.
"You play my nerves like..." the brunette tilted her head at that guitar, for some reason it was out of tune. "strings, all upside down." Tuning her guitar was quick and her previous comment about the strings was pretty good, she was going to use it.
"You play my nerves like strings, all upside down. Try to keep straight... my limbs are bonding now. Since a few Aprils ago, endless chase, to send away this... tireless persistence of taste."
Her fingers moved through the strings nimbly, trying to create the least amount of sound as was possible without alerting people in places to her whereabouts.
"With a touch of your words, I saw the devil sneak between my fingers, (all too familiar), with a touch of your words, I've learned to reverse. It's gotten me nowhere..."
Kaitlyn looked up a the sky half expecting it to be a shade lighter than what it was two seconds ago. She didn't particularly enjoy being alone in the dark, but she had convinced herself that her best work was always done when there was nothing around to distract her.
"A deep shade of horizon gold... the constellations remind me I am home. We were lit from the west, our silhouettes, yet a sight of industrial-ness, as the silence wins over every word."
This definitely sounded like a good song, albeit slightly chaotic, erratic and strange - but there was no complaining to be done, she needed to finish before the sun came up.
"What am I supposed to think about wondering round inside out...? Patterns don't feel right, still speaking like you know what I'm all about."
It was a short song, but she was too tired to add anything else too. Maybe, if she had been paying attention she would have noticed that someone had been watching her and listening to her singing, but she hadn't and still hadn't.

What a friggin' night.
Lucy stood against a brick wall, listening to Use Somebody by the Kings of Leon, they were her band of the week, it would probably change in about seven days, Lucy shook her head and sighed, opening up her eyes, she looked around, trying to see if there was anyone who wanted to go for a ride. No matter how many times her parents, well mainly her dad, have tried to send Lucy to SA, it never worked, in fact, it did the complete opposite, it made her even more addicted.
It obviously wasn't healthy, but then again, anything hardly ever was now a days. Lucy sighed again and jumped a little when she heard a car door slam. She looked up and saw a fairly good looking guy standing by an old Ford pick up truck, beckoning her to him. She gave him a smirk, pulled her ear buds out of her ears and put her ipod in her pocket and walked towards him and got in his truck.
An hour later, Lucy got out of her latest er clients car after getting paid. It had been a successful night, but she was going to have to stop working the streets for a few nights since she saw a few cops driving around and she did not want to spend time in jail. She's never been caught and there was no way that she was going to start now.
Lucy removed her hair tie from her hair and shook her head, her hair falling down to her back. She walked back to where she had been before, but on the way there, she saw her one and only cousin, sitting and apparently working on a song.
People who assumed that she hated her cousin could be right on some levels, however, it wasn't that she hated Kaitlyn, it was more of a 'I-hate-anyone-who-I-think-is-prettier-than-me' thing, Lucy could recall them getting along at some point in their lifetime, but that was too long ago so it obviously didn't count anymore.
Lucy made it her sole goal in life in making her cousins life miserable, and she liked to think that she succeeded in some way, shape, or form.
Not being able to resist messing with her, Lucy walked to where her cousin was. "What are you doing out here?" Lucy practically sneered.

Kaitlyn was lost in her own little world as she sat on the ground, playing her guitar and singing to herself. Prehaps they could use the song; it didn't make an awful lot of sense, but she found that it was a pretty powerful song just from the assortment of words that she had used. Kaitlyn smiled faintly as she strung the last of the chords against her guitar strings.
A flicker of moment caught her attention as she finished up, but passed it off as a nocturnal animal on his or hers way around the street. Well, at least that's what she thought it had been, until a voice cut out against the silent night. Shocking her into a state of semi-confused-ness.
What are you doing out here?
The voice was recognisable through the air. A flicker of a frown crossed across her sleep worn features, a twinkle in her eye and a skipped heart beat. Kaitlyn tilted her head upwards to face one of her enemies from childhood. Feeling giddy with fear, the younger girl scrambled to her feet and quickly covered the distance between herself and the wall.
Having a cousin like Lucille was a curse; most knew what she was capable of doing, but then most didn't know to the full extent of the torture that Kaitlyn had to endure whilst in the presence of her sworn enemy. It was bad enough that she was Luka's brother, let alone her cousin and the fifteen year old liked neither of those facts; but family was family, as her mother had said to her so many times before.
The younger brunette shook her head in distaste and looked down at the floor, shuffling her feet ever so slightly, trying to ignore the feeling in the pit of her stomach that was building up, ready to explode. Was it worth answering Lucille? Would she risk being plagued with horrific insults and text book taunts? What about the whole 'I-can-hit-Kaitlyn' ordeal that happened way too often, for her liking.
Bringing a slender finger to her eye and rubbing it gently, the sixteen year old thought about a witty comeback but then realised that it was useless even trying to thrown one at her; one just as bad would be thrown back and she wasn't so sure she could handle anymore of the cruel behaviour.
"I c-c-could ask you the same thing, Lucille.." The brunette stuttered, wrapping her arms around her slender frame and shaking her hair out of her eyes. This night had been perfectly fine until she had shown up, now everything was going to be seriously messed up and the night was going to be a blur. Her song would now have no meaning whatsoever and she couldn't guarentee that her face was going to have an unexpected meeting with Lucille's hand.
