this is a short app site, but it's barely even an app. it's about ten sentences long - all it asks mainly is your character's name; play-by and what they're here for, along with a few other bits. there's not even a history or a personality! PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: AT THE MOMENT WE HAVE A LOT OF JUNIORS AND SENIORS - WE DO NOT WANT TO BAN THEM BUT MAY HAVE TO SOON.

this is where all applications (as short as they may be) are kept just for future reference if needed. they keep the site tidy, too.

somebody having the same play-by as you is like somebody wearing the same outfit to a party. it's just wrong. which is why you should at least claim your face after being accepted. others are optional but appreciated.

this is where you think of really awesome/dramatic/omg-worthy plots for your characters. you make a thread, then people apply to be your character's friend and stuff. these are different to relationship pages! this is just where you plan plots.

honey, this is the twenty-first century. nobody has a phone just to call anymore, they do everything - play music, take pictures, surf the net: and a ton of other crap that you don't really need, it just makes it better than the girl's who sits next to you in math.

okay. there are times when the so-called instant messenger doesn't exactly live up to it's name; but it does the job when you're trying to find out the latest gossip from your peers. look at it this way - you can talk to people without even having to get dressed!

it's pretty darn pointless and to be honest; nobody really cares that much about what you're doing right now - but it's still managing to take over the world.

there will always be sad, sad situations that we either have no access to our cells or instant messenger; or times when we just can't use them. so passing notes around the room is just the next best thing available to do.

here is where you can get your revenge on your peers by starting some rumours - true or untrue. you can just make anything up about anybody at all; nobody cares. it's just something else for them to talk about. all posts are anonymous to characters but you can post logged in.

there's no actual gossip column here (yet) so the students rely on each other to get the latest gossip and such. if you see somebody doing something that they most likely shouldn't be, post it here and wait. ten bucks says it'll be all over school in ten minutes flat.

in the halls of the manhattan school of arts, there is one special wall covered in post-it notes, pieces of ripped paper or sharpie notes in the messy scrawl of msa students. what are they scrawling, you ask? their secrets. but nobody knows whom has written what.

the courtyard at the front of the school is very decieving. it makes the school seem very well funded - which it is - but with the fountain and large stone steps leading up to the front of the building, it makes the place look idyllic; as if all of the students are innocent and never have a bad word to say about anybody. ha ha, funny.

being here is either good or bad. it's good if you're sat in the principal's office to be praised for something that you've done. it's bad if you're being punished or being sat through his rather well rehearsed welcoming speech.

or, just a really big hall-type-place with rows of big cushiony chairs. there are usually three reasons people are in here. one of the principal's boring speeches; drama practice; or skipping class. a couple of musicians sometimes appear on the stage too.

boo hoo, were you caught skipping class on the bleachers again? then you probably got sent here; after being told to do so by one of the faculty memebers of course. bummer, eh?

well, this is an art school. all those who are taking art, painting, drawing, designing, etc. courses or here on scholarships - or, those who just like art anyway - are usually here taking their classes or making a mess. i mean, creating their latest masterpiece.

the music department here is seriously kitted out. from electric and acoustic guitars to pianos; keyboards and keytars to drum kits some people can only dream of. the school board were forced to get the room sound-proofed because other classes couldn't hear. rock on!

remember what i said about this being an art school? well, you still have to take the 'core subjects' - math, english, and science. although; the truth is that most people just skip and the few who do attend rarely pay attention.

another core subject that we're all forced to take, but this one isn't so bad. at least you get to blow things up and attempt to set the teacher (or your lab partner) alight.

this is probably the worst lesson on the manhattan school of arts timetable. it's as boring as heck and the teacher is older than some of the literature you study. great, just great.

you guessed it - this is the room in which a lot of the film classes are taught. there are fancy things like green screens and lots of expensive, complicated contraptions to do with things like lighting. one word of advice: try not to break anything unless you (or your daddy) can afford to replace it.

the studio is a big, empty room with polished wood floors and mirrors everywhere. it was supposed to be for the dance and drama classes, but the drama nerds tend to use the auditorium instead. apparently the sound is better there.

contrary to most school cafeterias, the food here is pretty good - even if it's not that healthy. pizza; nachos; burgers and fries. there are more healthier options but who cares? you only live once.

even with this brilliant invention called the internet and wonderful sites like wikipedia (highlight, copy, paste and bam! your homework is finished) there is still a library on school. it's quite a nice place, save the dust and cobwebs everywhere. unless you like that kind of thing.

there's no actual need for a big track on campus, but it's there anyway and it's pretty handy if you ever feel the need for a jog during free period. or to skip class under the bleachers; whatever floats your boat.

fairview estates is one of the richer suburban areas - most of the snobby kids at msa live here. y'know, the ones who get in even if they have the talent of a peanut, thanks to daddy's money.

Only a few blocks away from the Fairview Estates. This is where the more... 'average' msa students live, or the richer ones whose parents aren't as snobby as the Fairview residents.

the poorer residential area, this is where the real talented and dedicated students reside. along with a few houses that a couple of the richer kids bought especially for parties.

welcome to central park, the biggest park that you'll find in manhattan, new york. there's a lot of different activities for you to enjoy whilst on your wander around this breathtaking park. from simple picnic areas to a child's playground you'll sure to find at least one thing to do. there's even a zoo!

if you get badly injured at school then the nurse will send you here. really, the only other time that students are seen here is because of abortion or their rehabilitation programme.

being the largest chinatown in the world sure has it's advantages. with over 200 hundred different restaurants and some of the best chinese stores in the world, new york's chinatown can certainly boast it's brilliance. from the vibrant colors to the amazing smells, you'll surely find at least one thing in here that you know you'll enjoy, honestly. just don't get lost.

who doesn't love shopping? there's plenty to choose from, too - from the big designer names to the little stores that are only just scraping in enough to pay the store rent.

slightly smaller than central park, battery park doesn't have as much hustle and bustle as the busier of the two. it's bordered close to the harbor. the perfect park for a walk with a loved one, or prehaps a turn on the cycle track?

one of the biggest nightclubs about - popular amongst the more party loving students because they rarely ask for i.d at the door and the bar men think that since you got in, you must be old enough to drink. fun.

rather like fifth avenue although much larger. you'll know when you hit times square, after walking around new york, when you see the huge clock towering above the ground in the middle of the street. this is the place for the hard rock cafe and all manners of different stores; including gift stores and corner hot dog and pretzel stands.

who doesn't love to watch a cheesey movie when bored; scare the crap out of yourself; see why everybody is making a big deal out of the new twilight movie or just sit on the back row and pretend you're watching the film. you know what i mean.

the greatest toy store in the world. toys ''r'' us is notoriously famous for having every single toy that you could possibly imagine within it's own four walls. although this store has something that others do not. being huge and everything, new york's toys ''r'' us lays home to a giant ferris wheel; smack bang in the middle of the store. release your inner child and explore the many different levels; why not even have a go on the character ferris wheel.

big planks of wood, but watch your step; because there are sometimes holes. if you don't want to get sandy you can sit on the edge and pretend, or try and win a prize on the amusements.

some of the best italian food in manhattan, right here on the pier. from pizza to pasta, you're bound to find something to stuff your face with. if the weather holds, day or night, you can even eat outside.

you're never too old to eat three whole buckets of candyfloss, go on some of the biggest rollercoasters in the park and then try to avoid throwing your cookies outside the gates. good times, good times.

it's always pristine and perfect, no matter what time of day it is. there's never any litter and the water is always warm - at least, as long as the weather is - and at night you can sit back and watch the stars.

if ever you want to role-play events in the future (such as, when the characters have graduated) you can do it here. again; remember to mention the settings.

sadly, there's a time when most threads come to an end, and this is where they end up. unfinished applications or apps of characters that have been abandoned will be put here too.
